Repulsion

'Repulsion' is film with a lot of original camera work and angles, some excellent direction, and with a terrific feel to it. A lot of it is filmed so you have a feel of everyday reality which therefore heightens the dramtic effect of the imaginary, surreal and horror parts of the story. Mt only problem is either the script, acting of Ms Deneuve, or the direction early in the film. It was spiled a little for me because 'Carol' is just too paranoid or repressed from the beginning. I don't know how she could have held a job at a salon and even attracted a boyfriend if she was that disturbed from the beginning.

However, if you allow for that the film turn into a very dark, claustrophobic, horror story that musy have seen new and original back in 1966 and is still effective now.
